Interests: I really like writing...it's usually fiction...and for the past three years it's been the same story...i can't seem to get past one point in the plot... i also like reading...primarily Christian authors right now (Donald Miller is one of the greats)...but honestly i'll read about anything...I'm addicted to books... I love movies a lot...Finding Neverland is quite honestly the best movie I've seen in a long time. I'm quite interested in a variety of male actors...tis a typical thing i'd like to assume for the female gender. I'm enthralled by Johnny Depp and Joaquin Pheonix. I really like music, too. Christian rock for the most part...but anything with depth and substance is a good thing. I really like Rob Thomas, the Swift, and Audio Adrenaline right now. I REALLY like worship music...Chris Tomlin and Jeff Deyo rock my face off.
Expertise: I'm really good at being indecisive...especially when it comes to career decisions. I'm also really good at procrastinating...it's taken me a half hour just to update this section.

alright, you wanna know something that realy irks me?  this whole idea of postmodernism...and that kids today honestly think that it's okay to think whatever you want!

I had a talk with one of the kids in my youth group about homosexual relationship.  She said straight out that she supported them, that there was nothing wrong with that lifestyle!  "I'm not like that, but I don't think it's wrong!"
I seriously had to restrain myself from going over to her house and shaking...literally shaking some sense into her!  I mean...seriously...

We ended up getting into a pretty good discussion about what the Bible says about such relationships.  And she says to me "I don't care what the Bible says.  I can still be a Christian and think it's not wrong!"
Do they really not see the paradox in their thinking??  Do they not understand that when they say one thing...and then a couple days later say the complete opposite...it's confusing!

I don't think teenagers today take time to evaluate what they believe and THEN take time to balance that against what the Bible has to say.
I even had one kid in my group tell me he thought people were born gay....or that growing up with gay parents will make him gay.  I can see MAYBE where growing up with gay parents may make one a more susceptible to such behavior...

But, I think the thing that scares me the most about this next generation....
Christians aren't using the Bible as a foundation for what they believe.  They're using culture, what the world says is right and wrong.  To them...it seems the Bible is old religion...not applicable to what's going on in the world today.

How can I possibly get it across to these kids that there is black and white...right and wrong.  That's it's clear in the Bible how we, as Christians, should live life.
And I'm not saying discriminate against those that live such lifestyles...be friends with them...love them...just don't support the lifestyle.

Don't get me wrong, here.  I'm not a "Bible thumper" by any means.  I honestly can't STAND people that go around shoving their faith and religion down the other person's throat.
And I don't make it a habit of going around telling people they're going to Hell...because well...who am I to judge where someone will spend eternity?  Christ is the final judge on all things.
I can however build a relationship (a healthy relationship) in order to gain trust and grounds in order to share my beliefs in the hopes of showing people the light that is Jesus Christ.

I mean, there are good ways and bad ways of sharing one's faith...the way the Muslim Extremists do it???  That's bad...
But, what's so wrong about inviting a friend to church, or to youth group.  "Oh they don't believe in that stuff..."  Well, it doesn't hurt to ask if they want to come.  Maybe they're just waiting for the invite.

And you know what?  If people say they don't want to hear it...take the hint!  Continue living a Christian life...be living examples of Christ...
because ultimately...your LIFE WILL SPEAK.

But, seriously don't be afraid of hurting people...sometimes Truth hurts...
and that's what people need to realize...that there is TRUTH!!  ONE TRUTH...ONLY ONE TRUTH!!!

This crap about "whatever's good for you is good for you...and whatever's good for me is good for me..." YEAH THAT MAY WORK FOR A SOFA!!  But when it comes to JESUS CHRIST???  ONE size FITS all!!!!

so, here's what's going on here.
Ryan will be leaving at the start of the year.
The church is offering me his position as director of the youth program.
For the past week, I've been praying about whether or not to take this job.  I had pretty much decided to take the job...but then wondered what that would do for my living situation.  When I was told I'd probably move into the Wright Place...well...things kind of went down hill for me.  It's pretty much the last thing I want to do right now.  The place just isn't home.  My apartment is small...just enough for me...away from church...and well...it's home for me.
So...for the past few days I've prayed and wondered about what would happen if (assuming I would HAVE to move) didn't take the offer...if I ended up looking into other opportunities.
I got really confused...frustrated...and well...anxious about what could happen in the next few months!

Well...after talking to my parents...after some encouragement from the people around me...
And especially after talking to the pastor this morning....
I'm going to take the offer.
I don't have to move...and well...I get a raise!!
I'll be running the program on my own...but will have some pretty close supervision from the pastor...which I think I'll like.  It'll give me a better opportunity to build a relationship with him...and still practice some leadership and planning skills.

I'm anxious to get my feet wet...to get comfortable with things...with running things!

So...pray for me...keep praying for me....don't quit praying for me!!!
It's a tough time...but an exciting time!
God is moving and it's AWESOME!!!
